Hello all, having just read Bruce's latest newsletter I said to myself " no way EWCG would disappear". While I have had a very busy year or so, with zero activity on the EWCG, I consider this site a service to enthusiasts and community at large, and feel EWCG has made historical significance. Obviously as life teaches us we need to listen to our health, and at times make even dramatic decisions, as Bruce has had to. My primary proposal is to transfer the entire EWCG site over to www.enigma.fi retaining current EWCG functionalities, perhaps with minor alterations depending on versions of available software for various things like forum, and while at it respectfully retain the EWCG identity in the process. I am not all that enthusiastic about having more domain names to maintain, would rather prefer the short and - in a way - catchy enigma.fi BUT as stated, clearly show the EWCG identity, also considering search engines and similar. Technically a such transfer is quite doable, albeit some effort is needed. If you take a look at www.enigma.fi/oh2bnf you will also see my 40-node Raspberry Pi cluster which deals with AI (deep learning etc.), RF signal detection and automated decoding and in general adaptive automation. While constructing that system during this year, I have constantly kept in mind EWCG and Enigma in general, forecasting something Enigma-related to be part of cluster duties. Ultimately we'll see how Bruce feels about this and if other proposals have come up, but for the sake of community, EWCG must carry on. -73 de OH2BNF

Learned that a good plan has already been established. Hope that we will be able to support the new site manager in his duties!

Saddened to hear about Bruce's situation as well. Could somebody post what the plans going forward are? Yes, Bruce and I have been working on this for several months and the transfer is now complete. I have taken on the responsibilities of the EWCG web pages as its new Administrator. At present, pretty much will remain the same. I am starting to work on the next newsletter. If anyone has an interest in submitting a topic, an encrypted message, or even pictures, please send them to me here. I am planning a new section for the newsletter and that will be to have a picture(s) of individuals Enigma machines, actual, one of the recent mechanical replicas, or an electronic version. If you have one of the original code books and want to show it off, that would be great too.
Although Bruce won't be as involved with EWCG as before, we will hear from him from time to time. Bruce has done a great job, and it will be hard to fill his shoes. I am proud to pick up the torch and run forward with it. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact me here.
Mauser sends.
