In short, if I start practicing with the M3 with the same procedure that is to be used for the M1, am I doing it incorrectly?
I have gotten the hang of encrypting and decrypting Enigma M1 messages properly, though my formatting might need a little work. I want to start moving on to the M3, but am wondering if there is a difference between Kriegsmarine protocol versus Wercmacht? Though, technically, the only real difference between the two versions is that the M3 came with additional rotors, I am concerned that there may be different rules for the M3.
The Kriegsmarine, on multiple levels, was much more suspicious of the Enigma being compromised. The procedures they developed for the M4 were impressive, with their bigram charts and what-not. Did they do something like that with the M3? I find it hard to believe that they would use the same routine as the Wehrmacht for their M3, other than the little restrictions on rotor use and what-not.
Thanks to anyone who might be able to answer.

Well, I have been away for quite a while and don't know if things have changed (I admitt that I had a bit of trouble finding 2019 keys) but if there ever was a different procedure, it has not been in use in this forum
