Got one answer - kind of, I found one on internet, not sure where. I then did some minimal processing in inkscape and got a svg file that I later used on my first pcb batch (working on getting a different logo for the "production" batch).
The "kind of" is that since I don't know where I got it from I can't claim any kind of rights to it (well, the inkscape process but that part I I don't care about) so don't blame me if someone state it's their creation (since it might be)
enigma_logo.svg (6.24 KB)
Now regarding the enigma logo itself as a logo - I did look a little if anyone has any rights to it but found nothing, I guess it is old enough to not have any rights attached (and if so who would have those rights today). If so you can draw it your self in whatever tool you feel ok to work with and then use that.
As for the other answers - the black part I would guess is what arduino enigma said, black acrylic. The top seems to be one piece and the front (stecker) is another piece. For a simpler version I guess a single piece on the top is ok but for a showpiece I want it staggered.
I recently bought a simple CNC mill and now learning how to design stuff for milling. So far I just done the rotor and the enigma logo on some scrap wood.
I'm working on designing something similar to the openenigma that I'm going to cut out but I'm leaning towards using metal for my case since that's what the original was (and luftwaffe model had no woodbox, that part was also metal).
One issue I have is how to make the keys. It's lots of way to make them but I think it's to work intensive to make 26 keys out of some tubing and such so I'm looking for something simpler.
The stecker - dunno those ones but I'm going with small 4mm banana plug and possible 2mm banana for the second one on each plug. I think that looks ok, at least much better than using 3.5mm or rca plugs.
