How many have heard of the RHV? This was a way to send and receive encrypted traffic when the Enigma was broken or not available. This procedure was manual but did use an available K-Book if possible. Go to Dirks website and look it up, its pretty interesting. Below, is a message I coded up using the RHV. Without having the code tables (actually a bunch of bigram tables, you'd be hard pressed to decipher. But this is an actual message I put together to give an idea what an RHV message looks like.
FCOC ARVG XZNI XSWZ SCVT ZCTC UUVI HTII NOBN BYPB BUUT DRFM JMGY ICHD HGEN TPHW GXHS IMTS BPVN YRTQ TIMG JMVG ODVA FUBN UKMK JXVQ UWZD TXGI TJGX YARO KWVB QZDQ LCOO BSJC QNRS CLJV QUSE ZWAJ PQKT GKRK FJET ECNF VMLB DJQE ADUN QZGF DBMR QSHE JPUS JRGB PMXB RCUL YJKF BNSJ AMPJ QCXS EDKA BKYP LJPH NZXQ ANIW YSOU BHVW RFLL LIPO SWUQ HXAU QCCY DCCY EBZL QXIR AEUX KTXI FCOC ARVG
Have fun!

I have looked for RHV on Dirk's site but could not find anything. Maybe you are talking about Rasterschlussel44
[edit] I found RHV...Boy, this one is quite hard...Rasterschlussel44 seems more fun...less paperwork...
