Hi,
First post and kind of new to this Enigma thing. I got the hang of the wehrmacht proceedure with the kenngrupen (at least the version the EWCG use with for example the EWCG2018 code sheets). It is rather straight forward and fun but a bit repetitive.
I was wondering if there were other procedures that I could try but I have the following limitation. I'm travelling and I don't want to use a system where I have to print material or even cross-reference too much sheets on my computers/take notes on my computer.
Are there such options?
Otherwise, are people sometimes doing things differently, like double encryption or using a rearangement cypher (ex: fence post) before using the enigma?
Take care

Hi, I almost never write anything down to decode the messages... PDF files for the keysheets (and bigram and Kbook and so on). I like to use the edge of the simulator's box as a ruler to help me follow the right line and, of course, a little notepad open on the side for the bigram resolving part and formating operation. As far as double encryption is concerned, there is the Offizier procedure but that is about it...we are not really trying to exchange secrets here so ther is no need for real secrecy. I did participate in an old post where we tried about every form of encryption available on Dirk's site (I love the SECOM but am totally unable to do it without the users manual, and still it does end up wrong).
