Hmmm, I wonder if the intent of the message is to try all combinations from AAA to ZZZ. A bombe starts to look attractive...
Could it be that the starting position is the same as another message in the same newsletter?

Checked starting position for the other messages on this news letter. no joy... used the kennegruppen for mess 1 and 2 and got new starting pos. no joy... checked aaa to zzz no joy... i won't do aab aac thru zza zza etc that's 18000..... i need the bombe!!! is there one for a pc?  ? i just hope i have not done my stupid errors on this --- been working on m4 decrypts and have only done the sample...although i think i am following the procedure on the other messages i have tried. thanks claude

There is a bombe for PC. Or something even better. Look for Enigma.py. py-enigma.readthedocs.io/en/latest/overview.htmlAnd a code is relatively easy to write. It's 3 for loops from a to z and a feeding of the results into Enigma simulator. Here's a screenshot:
On my laptop (last I checked) it takes less than 2 mins.
