Maybe im doing something wrong, but i have a little proble dealing with the RHV, basicaly this is my problem. I am confused, I am currently looking at the quick reference guide for the RHV sheets, in that guide, it says when the Schlüsselkenngruppe and the Verfahrenkenngruppe has been selected, we treat it as we would like a normal enigma kenngruppen (Add a dummy letter to the front and back of the two groups, this I understand, but then it skips like a mile ahead of me an says the "Bigram substitution tables for indicator groups of the day is "Quelle" Tafel A" But I cant find that information anywhere? The guide also says that it got this information from the "Tauschtafelplan für Kenngruppen" but I cant find any information in any of the documents about what bigram table I need to use. Please help a noop out

I have done very little to none RHV but if it is like any other procedure, the indications concerning the bigramm table to be used that day is in the Kenngruppenbuch (K-book) (pages 10 and 11 in my copy of the Kbook) available on the site.

The RHV is a somewhat complicated cipher system. In essence, setting up the message headers, you use the procedure and bigram tables for the message key groups, but there are a completely different set of bigram tables used for the encoding and decoding. For the message key groups you refer to the K-book to determine which of 10 tables should be used. But in the actual coding of the message you use 4 out of a total of 25 tables totally different from the bigram tables for the message key groups.
