Equiped with a special hull acoustic dampening system code named: Alberich. U-1105 a.k.a 'Black Panther' was sunk off Piney Point Maryland in Chesapeake Bay sometime in the fall of 1949. It is was designated by the Maryland Historical Trust as Marylands first ever shipwreck preserve in 1995. I didn't know U boats made it into the Chesapeake. I know they made it into the Gulf of Mexico.
